Our Mission
Faithful Reasoning is an online resource which seeks to journey through the nuances of why we believe what we believe. Positioned within the context of faith, we endeavor to host and explore insightful conversations that unpack the tensions of our lived experiences in light of what we believe to be true about faith. Join our creator, Candace, and the FR community as we reason together.
Candace Kyles
Creator of Faithful Reasoning
Born and raised in Chicago, Candace Kyles is a writer, educator, and theologian who shapes and develops spaces where faith and reasoning converge.
Candace graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BS in Economics. She also holds an MA in Systematic Theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction at Loyola University Chicago.
Always the analytical thinker, her curiosity compelled her to examine the fundamental tenets of the Christian faith. Additionally, she sought to reconcile the tensions of faith with the reality of humanity’s lived experience. She engages in passionate dialogues with people from all walks of life in order to grapple with the why behind our beliefs. In a culture where faith and truth are often at odds, her exploration of faith by way of reasoning, lead her to believe --- the discovery of truth inevitably strengthens our faith.
Born out of Candace’s passion for building bridges, Faithful Reasoning was created as an online space for all people to explore matters of life, faith, and culture. She hopes to instigate deeper thinking and reflection on the journey to truth, insight, and understanding.
Candace currently resides on the south side of Chicago where she often indulges in french fries and pancakes (not together, of course). Her current hobbies include trying to fall in love with running and re-starting her fitness journey...again.
